Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant threatened Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, stating that "he will soon face the barrels of our guns." Galant said, "The activities of the occupation army and the defense establishment continue in northern Gaza, gradually completing the targets we set, which are dismantling Hamas brigades and eliminating their secret capabilities," according to the Times of Israel.
Galant explained after an assessment conducted with the chief of the Israeli army, and the heads of the Shin Bet and Mossad: "We are also operating in the Khan Younis area and southern Gaza, and we will work in other places in the future." He added, "One thing is clear, Yahya Sinwar now hears the sound of the Israeli army tanks above him, the air force bombs, and the operations of the Israeli army, and he will also meet the barrels of our guns soon." The Israeli army believes that Sinwar is hiding underground in southern Gaza.
