Scaloni Not Considering Leaving Argentina National Team

Lionel Scaloni confirmed his intention to continue coaching the Argentina national football team after doubts about his future with the World Cup champions arose last November. Scaloni (45 years old) previously stated that he was contemplating stepping down from his position following Argentina's 1-0 victory over Brazil in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, saying, "Continuing to progress and win is complex." Earlier this month, local media reported that Scaloni reached an agreement with the Argentine Football Association to remain in his role at least until the end of next summer's Copa América. In an interview with Italian television, Scaloni said, "There was a lot of talk, but I was always telling the truth. There were moments to think and know what to do. It was not a farewell or anything like that."
