Media outlets circulated an aerial image of the destruction caused by missiles at the targeted site in Erbil by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The Revolutionary Guard stated in a statement reported by the Iranian news agency (IRNA) that it destroyed one of the main espionage bases of the Israeli intelligence agency (Mossad) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, according to the statement. The statement added that the bombardment destroyed "a gathering of terrorist groups hostile to Iran in parts of the area using ballistic missiles." Reuters reported from three security sources that the sound of explosions was heard in an area approximately 40 kilometers from Erbil city, near the U.S. consulate and residential homes.
