Australian Troy Mayne considers photography his absolute passion in life, believing that "there is nothing more astonishing than the oceans, their biodiversity, and their unparalleled strangeness." In 2006, Mayne worked on a tourist boat as an underwater photographer on the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, Australia. Therefore, it is no surprise that he has endless scenes recounting part of his adventures and the friendships he formed underwater. In an interview with CNN Arabic, the Australian photographer said: "I managed to befriend Wally (a fish) and Shelly (a turtle). They would follow me wherever I swam." Mayne spent 4 hours each day with them for 5 days a week, and this continued for 6 years, explaining: "I have thousands of photos of them." The Australian emphasized: "People are surprised when they realize that these are real photos and not digitally manipulated."
