Significant Increase in Cancer Cases in Lebanon

Former Lebanese MP Assem Araji has warned about the noticeable increase in cancer cases in Lebanon. He wrote on his X platform: "On the occasion of World Cancer Day, which falls on February 4, I warn about the notable rise in cancer diseases, which is due to the increase in food and water pollution and the failure of some factories to adhere to global standards to prevent air pollution." Araji added that this day should be a motivation for the state and society to assist cancer patients, especially since there is a shortage of cancer treatment medications as well as their high costs, emphasizing that "awareness and prevention are essential factors to limit the disease."
