Wall Street Closes Lower Affected by Apple Decline

U.S. stocks closed lower on Tuesday, following mixed earnings data from Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, which put pressure on the banks, along with sell-offs in Boeing and Apple affecting the S&P 500 index. Morgan Stanley dropped to its lowest level in over a month after reporting lower quarterly earnings, while Goldman Sachs saw little change in its stock during most of the session after reporting a 51% jump in profits. According to preliminary data, the S&P 500 index closed down 0.37% at 4,765.96 points. The Nasdaq composite fell 0.19% to 14,944.35 points, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.62% to 37,360.99 points.
