Minister of Agriculture Abbas Haj Hassan stated that "President of the Parliament Nabih Berri was clear regarding the appointment in the army leadership, meaning that what applies to other positions also applies to the army leadership, and first, we need to elect a president." He clarified in a television statement that "the solution for the army leadership requires further consideration and caution due to its importance, while regarding the proposal to postpone the discharge in the government, 'let the boy come and pray to the Prophet,' and if the solution in the government falters, then it is up to Parliament." Haj Hassan pointed out that "industrial hemp brings in $1.5 billion to the state annually," adding: "Last year, as the Ministry of Agriculture, we planted 15,000 dunams of soft wheat, and this year the ministry will plant 40,000 dunams with a generous grant from Japan." He continued: "We are working in the Ministry of Agriculture to secure a grant to fund the construction of horizontal silos for wheat storage, similar to the experience of our sister kingdom of Jordan."
