The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division, has issued the following statement: As a result of the daily monitoring conducted by the Internal Security Forces to reduce theft operations in various Lebanese areas, and after an increase in thefts in Sidon and nearby areas by an unidentified individual, specialized units of the Information Branch intensified their field and intelligence efforts to identify and arrest the suspect.
As a result of investigations and inquiries, the branch managed to identify him as F. M. (born in 1991, Syrian), who has a criminal history and multiple warrants and legal pursuits for theft crimes. Orders were given to patrols from the branch to locate and arrest him. On 25/06/2023, after precise observation and surveillance, one of these patrols successfully apprehended him in Sidon.
Upon searching him and his home, they seized two laptops, a hunting rifle, and a quantity of stolen goods. During interrogation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding his involvement in numerous thefts in Sidon and its vicinity, in addition to several thefts in Al-Barbir, Cola, and Khaldeh. The stolen items included mobile phones, cash, electronic devices, and a hunting rifle. He also admitted to stealing laptops, a gas cylinder, and a speaker from a school in the Jiyeh area.
The necessary legal procedures were taken against him, and he was deposited with the seized items in the competent authority, as per judicial directions.
