British Police Charge Three with Murder of Child Including Her Father

British police announced on Friday that they "have charged three people with the murder of 10-year-old Sarah Sharif, who was found dead at her home last month, including her father." Police discovered Sarah with serious injuries at her home in Woking, southwest London, on August 10. Her father, 41-year-old Irfan Sharif, his girlfriend, 29-year-old Beena Shah, and her uncle, 28-year-old Faisal Malik, all traveled to Pakistan the day before. They returned to the UK on Wednesday when authorities arrested them at Gatwick Airport in London after they disembarked from a flight from Dubai. Surrey Police stated that "the three are charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child." They are scheduled to appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court later on Friday. The police reported that they "have informed Sarah's mother of the latest developments, and she is receiving support from specialist officers."
