The media office of Minister of Communications Johnny Qurm confirmed that following the Cabinet's decision to increase the tariffs for the "Ogero" services, and with the new prices coming into effect starting September 1, 2023, all bills will be issued exclusively in Lebanese lira. The price of the minimum package for subscribers via "Ogero" will be 420,000 lira. The Ministry of Communications is working to address the situation of all distribution networks of the unlicensed service in order to regularize them within the legal frameworks and local regulations in force. Any company or distributor claiming to calculate the new monthly bill based on the Cabinet's decision in US dollars will be pursued legally. Qurm requested the Ministry of Economy to hold these companies accountable for manipulating prices, disregarding the living conditions of the Lebanese people.
