A strong earthquake struck northeastern Afghanistan today, Thursday, and was felt by residents in Kabul as far as Islamabad. The U.S. Geological Survey reported that "the epicenter of the earthquake, which had a magnitude of 6.4, was located in the Jorm area of Badakhshan province in the Hindu Kush mountain region." No reports of damage or injuries have been received yet.
