Belgian television channel "VRT" reported on Friday, citing government sources, that "Belgium will provide a ship for the European Union mission to protect navigation in the Red Sea from attacks by the Yemeni Houthi group." Several shipping companies have changed their vessels' routes to alternative paths following the attacks launched by the Houthis, who control large areas of Yemen. They claim that their attacks are in solidarity with the Palestinians amid the war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement "Hamas" in the Gaza Strip.
