Israeli Channel 12 reported that the Israeli army released a document claiming that the journalists killed in Gaza were "terrorist activists." IDF spokesperson Daniel Hegari stated, "The intelligence information in possession of the Israeli army reveals the identity of the deceased, Hamza Al-Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuraya, who are claimed to be journalists, as activists in terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip that participated in promoting terrorist operations against the Israeli army." He added, "Before the attack, the journalists operated two drones in a manner that posed a real threat to our forces, which led the air force to target the terrorists responsible for operating the drones."
