Public Administration Employees Announce Work Stoppage on Thursday

The "Public Administration Employees Gathering" expressed, in a statement today, their regret over the "disdain and indifference that the government shows towards their rights, treating public administration employees as mere commodities for exploitation." They stated it is surprising to hear their leader speak of seeking justice and fairness in salary increases. The gathering questioned, "Where was this justice when other sectors received special increases while public administration employees were deprived?" They asserted, "If this is their justice, then the scales are imbalanced."

The gathering reiterated its full solidarity with all sectors in claiming their rights, rejecting the idea that depriving public administration employees is one of those rights, especially given that the number of public administration employees is the lowest among sectors.

They announced a work stoppage starting from the day after tomorrow, Thursday, the 21st of this month, until their demands are met, primarily the correction of salaries or, at the very least, an increase no less than what was proposed in the draft decree, without imposing any impossible conditions. It was emphasized that this increase should take effect from the first of December, and should be for a limited period during which the government can complete a comprehensive correction project for salaries, wages, and all benefits.

The gathering urged "colleagues to fully comply," noting that "continued disdain and contempt for employees' rights will lead to paralysis in public administrations as a whole. Consequently, public services will halt, and state revenues will diminish, which will inevitably impact the departments responsible for salary disbursement, leading to a stoppage of salary payments for all workers in public sectors, whether in public administrations or other sectors."
