Tesla announced today, Thursday, that it will suspend most of its car production at its plant near Berlin from January 29 to February 11, citing a component shortage due to shifts in shipping routes amidst the armed conflict in the Red Sea. Tesla stated in a statement: "The armed conflicts in the Red Sea and the associated shifts in transport routes between Europe and Asia via the Cape of Good Hope also have an impact on production in Grünheide." It added: "Significantly longer transport times create a gap in supply chains."
