Imran Khan and His Wife Sentenced to 7 Years in Prison

The Pakistani news agency "ARY" reported today that a court has sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Khan to seven years in prison and imposed a fine, ruling that their marriage in 2018 violated the law. This marks the third conviction against Khan in about a week and comes ahead of the national elections scheduled for Thursday, in which he is barred from participating. Khan (71) has recently been sentenced to 10 years in prison for leaking state secrets and an additional 14 years alongside his wife for illegally selling state gifts.
