Iranian state media reported that Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei called on Islamic countries to stop exporting oil and food to Israel to end the bombing of Gaza during a speech to a group of university students in Tehran on Wednesday. Khamenei emphasized that "the bombing of Gaza must stop immediately." He viewed the United States as complicit in the "latest crimes committed against the Palestinians" by Israel. As chants of "death to Israel" and "death to America" rose, Khamenei stated, "The Islamic world should not forget that America, France, and Britain stood against Islam and the oppressed Palestinian people in the critical Gaza issue." He warned Iranian leaders that Israel should expect escalated actions if it does not cease its assaults on the Palestinians, as authorities indicated the readiness of Tehran-backed agents in the Middle East to take action.
