Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he may travel to Egypt soon to discuss how to expedite the evacuation of patients from Gaza and other measures. In statements to reporters on his flight returning from Algeria, Erdogan stated that the Islamic world must act with a spirit of unity and solidarity regarding Gaza and that Israel must be compelled to comply with international law and be held accountable for its actions in Gaza. He said, "When a single fist strikes the table with great force, it will not be possible for Israel to continue its occupation or oppression." He added that "efforts must be made to ensure a ceasefire, provide sufficient aid to Gaza, and rebuild the sector using economic, political, and diplomatic means."
