UAE President and Qatari Emir: Immediate Ceasefire Necessary in Gaza

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, discussed the bilateral relations and various paths of cooperation and joint work in all fields to achieve the mutual interests of both countries and bring goodness and prosperity to their peoples. They also reviewed, at the Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, ways to enhance joint Gulf cooperation to serve the interests and aspirations of the peoples of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries towards development and continued progress.

The two leaders exchanged viewpoints on the developments in the Middle East and efforts to de-escalate tensions, emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid through the establishment of safe and sustainable mechanisms for this purpose, alongside the absolute priority of protecting civilian lives in accordance with international humanitarian law and ensuring their safety.

They stressed the importance of working to avoid the expansion of violence and escalation, to prevent further humanitarian crises in the region, and to create a clear horizon for achieving lasting, just, and comprehensive peace in the area. Bin Zayed hosted a dinner in honor of the Emir of Qatar and his accompanying delegation.
