Israel Arrests Wanted Individuals Using Facial Recognition Technology

Israeli media reported today, Tuesday, that the Israeli army managed to arrest hundreds of individuals wanted by Hamas using facial recognition technology, which was employed along the route of Palestinian evacuees from Khan Younis.

Israeli press sources stated that the Israeli army placed a camera linked to a computer that uses artificial intelligence to identify faces along the route taken by Palestinian evacuees from Khan Younis towards Rafah. They added that through this camera, the army was able to identify around 300 individuals wanted by Hamas who were among approximately 100,000 displaced Palestinians, and the army arrested these individuals. Security sources indicate that among these individuals are those wanted in connection with the events of October 7.
