Three individuals of Syrian nationality were injured while attempting to cross into Lebanon through the illegal Al-Abidan land crossing due to the explosion of two landmines early this morning in the Al-Armouta area, near the town of Khatt Al-Betrol on the Lebanese bank of the Great River in the border region of Wadi Khaled. The injured are as follows: 18-year-old young man, Yusuf Hussein Jalout (his leg was amputated), Bashar Ibrahim Awijan (27 years old, shrapnel injuries to the back), and Hussein Awad Awijan (18 years old, both his leg and arm were amputated, and shrapnel injuries to the neck with his condition described as critical). The Lebanese Red Cross transported them, with the assistance of local residents, to the Hospital of Our Lady of Peace in Qoubayat. The army issued a statement stating: "On September 13, 2023, while a number of Syrians were attempting to illegally infiltrate Lebanese territory at the northern border, two landmines exploded on the Syrian side of the border, resulting in injuries to three of them. The Lebanese Red Cross took them to a hospital in northern Lebanon."
