The White House announced today, Friday, that the United States does not want a war with Yemen but will not hesitate to take further actions in response to Houthi attacks in the Red Sea. Spokesman John Kirby told reporters aboard Air Force One, "We are not interested... in a war with Yemen. We are not interested in any kind of conflict." He added, "Everything the President has been doing is aimed at preventing any escalation of the conflict, including last night's strikes."
