British media has revealed that Natalie Biden, the granddaughter of U.S. President Joe Biden, is in love with a young man of Arab descent named Rafael Hajar. Photos of the two were circulated for the first time together, holding hands during an official dinner hosted by the president at the White House in honor of Kenyan President William Ruto, attended by former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Other members of the Biden family were present, including his son Hunter and granddaughters Naomi and Finnegan, along with Natalie, who attended her first official dinner with her boyfriend Rafael Hajar.
Who is Rafael Hajar?
British media reports that Hajar was educated in Britain at Westminster's Wyedean School and Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith. He also took short engineering courses at King's College London and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as mathematics at the University of Westminster. Hajar is fluent in Arabic, English, and French, and he features the Syrian flag emoji followed by the French and British flags in his Instagram bio.
It is unclear where and how they met, but Hajar and Biden's granddaughter are set to study at the University of Pennsylvania.
Natalie, 19, is the eldest daughter of Biden's late son Beau, who died of cancer in 2015, and she is one of the seven grandchildren of the U.S. president. Hajar plays cricket and tennis and has been registered as a player on the University of Pennsylvania's rugby team for the 2023-2024 season. Meanwhile, Biden's granddaughter enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania this year after graduating from her school in Delaware, and she toured the campus with her grandfather in 2022.
