The official gazette announced today, Friday, that Tunisia has raised drinking water prices by up to 16% in response to the water shortage caused by drought over the past five years. Since last year, Tunisia has implemented a rationing system for drinking water and banned its use in agriculture. The North African country has also started cutting off water supply at night since last summer.
