Surgical Robot Kills Patient in Britain

A British man has filed a lawsuit against Intuitive Surgical, the manufacturer of the Da Vinci surgical robots, following the death of his wife, Sandra Seltzer, 78, who was suffering from colon cancer. The patient died due to the robot causing a hole in her small intestine during surgery to remove a tumor, without the surgeons’ awareness, resulting in a fatal internal leakage.
