A member of the budget committee in the German parliament confirmed that "lawmakers approved today, Wednesday, an advance payment of 560 million euros for the planned purchase of the Israeli missile defense system 'Arrow-3' at a cost of 4 billion euros (4.30 billion dollars). The 'Arrow-3' system is designed to intercept ballistic missiles outside the Earth's atmosphere.
Documents related to the procurement prepared by the German Ministry of Finance to be presented to the parliament state that "Berlin aims to conclude a deal with the Israeli government to purchase the 'Arrow-3' system by the end of the year."
The documents added that "Germany will lose the advance payment or part of it if the deal fails, as the funds will be used to compensate Israel for the costs incurred up to that point."
The German Air Force is expected to receive the 'Arrow-3' system by the fourth quarter of 2025.
