The acting governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Wassim Mansouri, announced in a statement that based on Central Council Decision No. 23/27/1 (Repeated 2) held on 23/08/2023, the decision was made to amend the summary statement prepared for publication to align with the international standards and norms adopted in central banks, for greater transparency. This follows Central Council Decision No. 1/26/23 (Repeated 3) held on 21/08/2023, concerning the "Formation of a Committee tasked with amending the accounting system adopted at the Central Bank of Lebanon to comply with international accounting standards and to establish a transitional roadmap for adopting the standards applied in global central banks." Accordingly, and according to Article 117 of the Money and Credit Law, which requires the Central Bank to publish a summary statement every 15 days in the official Gazette, the bank will publish the summary statement as of 2023-08-15 and subsequent periods after adding the necessary clarifications and explanations to facilitate public reading until the necessary amendments are made.
