The Palestinian news agency (Wafa) reported that 51 people, mostly women and children, were killed, and dozens were injured in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the Al-Maghazi camp in central Gaza on Saturday evening. Reuters could not independently verify the report from the Palestinian news agency. The Israeli military has not yet responded to a request for comment. Meanwhile, Ashraf al-Qidra, a spokesperson for the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza, stated that a large number of people had died in what he referred to as the "Massacre of Al-Maghazi," without providing a specific number, and noted that many individuals with severe injuries were piled up in the emergency department. The Al-Maghazi camp is located in the Deir al-Balah Governorate in central Gaza. Israel claims that it targets Hamas and not civilians, accusing militants of using residents as human shields.
