The Mercedes team, competing in the Formula 1 World Championship, announced today that its seven-time world champion driver Lewis Hamilton has activated a buyout clause and will leave Mercedes at the end of the 2024 season. The 39-year-old British driver is expected to join Ferrari for 2025. Ferrari confirmed that Hamilton will join the Italian team in 2025 on a multi-year contract.
