The General Directorate of Civil Defense announced today, Tuesday, the "recovery of a citizen's body from under the rubble of the building that collapsed yesterday, Monday, in the Mansouriya area, raising the number of victims to three." The directorate indicated in a statement that "the operation was carried out according to the instructions of General Director of Civil Defense, Brigadier Raymond Khattar, who accompanied the team to where the body was found to supervise the detailed operations." Civil defense personnel, trained in search and rescue operations, continue to perform their tasks since 1:45 PM yesterday, Monday, under the close supervision of Minister of Interior and Municipalities Judge Bassam Mawlawi, with Brigadier Khattar present on-site overseeing the operations. Earlier, civil defense personnel managed to rescue four survivors from beneath the rubble and recovered two bodies last night, leaving five people still missing.
