The head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, emphasized that any agreement with Israel must guarantee a ceasefire, the withdrawal of the army from the Gaza Strip, and the achievement of a serious prisoner swap deal. During his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Doha on Tuesday, Haniyeh stated that "the foundation of stability in the region is ending the occupation and the Palestinian people obtaining their rights to their land and sanctities." The meeting addressed the "necessity of stopping the aggression of the occupation and its crimes against the people of Gaza and the West Bank, and sending humanitarian aid immediately to the people of Gaza."
