Major General Fawzi Al-Mansouri, head of the military intelligence affiliated with the Libyan army's General Command, was assassinated in Benghazi following a car bomb explosion, sources informed 'Al Arabiya/Al Hadath'.
The attack occurred in the Al-Hawari area near the Sayyida Aisha Mosque, where a bomb planted inside Al-Mansouri's vehicle detonated, resulting in his death.
Authorities have yet to issue official details about the incident or identify those responsible for the assassination. Investigations are underway to uncover the circumstances of the attack and identify those behind it.

Major General Fawzi Al-Mansouri was a prominent figure within the ranks of the Libyan army, ascending through various positions. Since 2024, he served as the director of military intelligence for the General Command, holding the rank of Major General after a distinguished military career.
Previously, Al-Mansouri led the Gulf Military Region and the Operations Room in Ajdabiya, gaining recognition as a vital field commander during the Tripoli War in 2019, overseeing the Ain Zara and Wadi Al-Rabea axes.
In August 2021, he was appointed by Army Commander Khalifa Haftar as the commander of the Sabha Military Region, frequently participating in military and security operations in southern Libya, mainly focusing on combating armed groups and enhancing security in border areas.
