Zuckerberg Apologizes to Families of Facebook Victims: "I'm Sorry"

Zuckerberg Apologizes to Families of Facebook Victims:

During a live session before the U.S. Senate yesterday, meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg apologized to families for the impact of social media on children. At the start of the session, the committee played a video featuring children discussing their experiences with bullying on social media platforms. Many advocates for child safety, survivors, and families were present, holding pictures of victims harmed by social media. Zuckerberg expressed his empathy towards the survivors and their loved ones, affirming that his company would work to prevent further harm.

Senator Josh Hawley, a Republican, asked Zuckerberg if he would like to apologize to the victims affected by his product, noting that the session was being broadcast live. Zuckerberg stood up and addressed the families, stating, "I'm sorry for everything that you've all gone through. No one should go through what your families have suffered, which is why we invest a lot and will continue to make industry-wide efforts to ensure that no one experiences the things your families have endured." Hawley strongly criticized Zuckerberg, telling him in a heated exchange, "Your product is killing people."
