Leverkusen Snatches Equalizer Against Bayern

Bayer Leverkusen secured a penalty in stoppage time from Ezequiel Palacios to draw 2-2 against host Bayern Munich on Friday, ending the champion's victorious start. Palacios converted the penalty after Alfonso Davies brought down Jonas Hofmann. Bayern had taken the lead in the 86th minute through Leon Goretzka, who scored following an excellent early play by substitute Matthias Tell. Harry Kane opened the scoring in the seventh minute with his fourth goal of the season, putting Bayern ahead before the guests equalized with a free kick from Alejandro Grimaldo in the 24th minute. Leverkusen struck the post and missed several chances through Victor Boniface before Goretzka's goal. However, a poor defensive performance by Davies led to Leverkusen getting a penalty in the final moments after a VAR review, which Palacios converted to snatch a point for Leverkusen. Both Bayern and Leverkusen now have 10 points each at the top of the standings.
