The investigative authorities in Cairo decided today, Thursday, to detain a bank manager for four days pending investigation for allegedly assaulting the doctor on duty at Al-Matariya General Hospital during a quarrel between them.
In detail, the bank manager assaulted the emergency doctor at Al-Matariya General Hospital with a metal object after a dispute over his wife's refusal to leave her mother's bedside after visiting hours had ended.
Al-Matariya Police Station was informed about the arrest of a 38-year-old man who works as a department manager at a well-known bank and resides in Nasr City, for attacking a doctor in the emergency section, causing him to suffer a brain hemorrhage and a dislocated shoulder. This incident arose from a verbal altercation between the accused's wife and the doctor when she was prevented from visiting her mother due to the end of visiting hours.
The accused and his wife were taken to the police station to take legal action regarding the incident.
