Reuters Denies Prior Knowledge of October 7 Attack on Israel

Reuters International News Agency denied today, Thursday, in a statement, any implication that it had prior knowledge of the attack launched by Hamas on Israeli civilians and soldiers on October 7. This came in response to a report by the organization "Honest Reporting." It stated, "We are aware of the report by Honest Reporting and the accusations directed at two independent photographers who contributed to Reuters' coverage of the October 7 attack." Reuters added, "We received images from two independent photographers residing in Gaza who were at the border on the morning of October 7, and we had no prior relationship with them. The images published by Reuters were taken two hours after Hamas launched rockets at southern Israel and more than 45 minutes after Israel announced that armed militants had crossed the border." It further stated, "Reuters journalists were not present on the ground at the locations referred to in the Honest Reporting report."
