Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday of only caring about his political survival while efforts to resolve the conflict in Gaza seem indecisive. After his meeting with Cypriot Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos, he stated, "It is essential to find ways to prevent an attack on Rafah." He added, "Netanyahu is determined to continue the war for his career and future, and it is very clear that he does not care about the fate and lives of innocents, whether in Israel or Palestine, the Israeli hostages, and the innocent Palestinians in Gaza." Netanyahu's office has not yet responded to a request for comment on al-Maliki's statements.
