Egypt and China stated in a joint statement today, Sunday, that they are closely monitoring developments in the Red Sea and reaffirmed the priority of ensuring navigation safety and security in the area. The statement indicated that the two countries expressed "concern regarding the expansion of conflict in the region" and stressed the "importance of international and regional cooperation efforts for the immediate cessation of attacks on the Gaza Strip."
