A Sudanese volunteer emergency room announced in a statement today, Sunday, that at least 40 people were killed in an airstrike on a market in southern Khartoum. A witness to the airstrike, who requested to remain anonymous for security reasons, told Reuters that drones carried out several violent airstrikes this morning in a large neighborhood in southern Khartoum, which has been largely occupied by the Rapid Support Forces. This marks the highest number of civilian casualties in a single incident since the start of the civil war in Sudan on April 15, as the fighting intensifies in residential areas.
