A statement from the Egyptian Cabinet announced today, Monday, that "the country has begun the implementation procedures to tender the management and operation of Egyptian airports to the private sector." Civil Aviation Minister Mohamed Abbas Helmy stated: "It is planned for the country to offer an international bidding process for the management and operation of Egyptian airports, including Cairo International Airport."
