Specialized teams and the Drug Enforcement Administration of the Jordanian Public Security Directorate raided drug traffickers of Arab nationality who had infiltrated across the border, resulting in the death of one of them, according to a statement from the media spokesperson of the Public Security Directorate. The media spokesperson stated on Friday evening that the specialized raid teams and the Drug Enforcement Administration continued their security operations against drug traffickers and dealers since morning.
The spokesperson explained in the statement that after coordination and gathering intelligence about these traffickers, their hiding place in tents in a desert area in the Al-Rweished district was identified, and appropriate plans were immediately put in place for the raid.
He confirmed that three individuals were arrested, while one was injured during the clashes which led to his death, and the firearm used by him was confiscated. The Public Security Directorate emphasized its commitment to dismantling the hideouts of criminals and pursuing them in close coordination with the Jordanian Armed Forces, security agencies, and through intelligence and operational cooperation, to prevent drug gangs from achieving their criminal goals and spreading their poison in the region, reiterating that the nation will remain resilient against every wicked aggressor.
