WHO: All Lifelines Cut Off from Gaza

The World Health Organization announced today, Friday, that residents of the Gaza Strip are risking their lives to obtain food, water, and other essentials amid the hunger and despair caused by the ongoing Israeli attacks. Christian Lindmeier, the organization's spokesperson, told reporters in Geneva, "The system in Gaza is on the brink of collapse, and more than that, all lifelines in Gaza have been cut off in one way or another." He added that this has created a "tragic situation," as was seen yesterday, Thursday, when more than 100 people were killed while seeking humanitarian aid. He noted that "people are in desperate need of food and clean water, for any supplies, to the extent that they are risking their lives to obtain any food or supplies to support their children and provide for themselves." He stated, "Food supplies have been deliberately stopped. Let us not forget that."
