Images Show Damage to American Ship Targeted by Houthi Drone

Over the past three days, the Houthis, whom the United States has reclassified as a global terrorist group, have launched three attacks on commercial shipping vessels in this globally significant maritime corridor. Some images have revealed the aftermath of the attack on the MV JINCO PICARDI in the Gulf of Aden late last Wednesday, according to a report by Reuters today. Part of the ship's deck appeared to be burned after being struck by a drone launched from Yemeni territory. The Indian Navy announced yesterday that it rescued the crew of a ship owned by the United States in the Gulf of Aden following an attack by the Iranian-backed Houthi movement. This prompted the U.S. military, in the aftermath of the attack, to conduct strikes targeting 14 Houthi missiles that "posed an imminent threat to commercial and U.S. Navy ships in the region," according to their statement.
