Bayern Munich, the German league champion, is looking for a new sports director to succeed Hasan Salihamidžić by Christmas at the latest, according to the club's honorary president, Uli Hoeneß. Hoeneß stated to "Kicker Sports" magazine on Monday, "We would have acted the same way even if we had won three titles; the decision needs to be made in this way." He added, "The new CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, knows everything about the club; if we hired someone new, they would need six months to learn their job." Former CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who was succeeded by Oliver Kahn in 2021, will return to the supervisory board to help plan the team's future for the next season. Hoeneß explained that it was a mistake to hire Oliver Kahn as CEO, adding, "The source of great frustration is that I thought he could accomplish the task just through his personality, but he surrounded himself with advisors who created a very bad atmosphere."
