The Dangers of Fried Potatoes on the Brain

Russian nutritionist Dr. Elena Solomatina highlighted the harms caused by consuming fried potatoes for the brain. In a statement to Sputnik Radio, she said, "Excessive consumption of fried potatoes can negatively affect the body because they have a high glycemic index, meaning that after eating them, blood glucose levels spike sharply." According to her, frequent consumption can lead to poor blood circulation.

She added, "The human body is made up of what it eats. Yes, this is a cliché, but it is true. Fried potatoes, unlike boiled potatoes, have a high glycemic index. If a person always eats fried potatoes, their blood sugar level often rises. This leads the body to react with recurrent inflammation. For instance, the lining of blood vessels gets coated with cholesterol, resulting in disturbances in blood circulation."

She continued, as a result, blood flow to the brain may decrease. She concluded, "The brain starts receiving less oxygen and nutrients, and as a result, many nerve cells 'break down' or die."
