Title: Fayyad: Limited Funding from the Bank of Lebanon Keeps Supply at 4-5 Hours

Fayyad announced that "there is a minimal relative success of the electricity plan," indicating that "there is an intention to increase supply hours to 8-10 hours, but the limited funding from the Bank of Lebanon has kept supply duration at 4-5 hours." During a press conference, attended by the General Director of Electricite du Liban, Engineer Kamal Hayek, Fayyad discussed the electricity plan and developments in several ministry-related files, noting that "increasing supply comes sustainably, due to the existence of a tariff that covers its costs. The figures show that the cost of a kilowatt-hour per household is approximately equivalent to 40% of the cost of the kilowatt-hour provided by private generators." Regarding violations on the electricity network, Fayyad stated, "the decision was to increase supply after campaigns to remove violations from the network, and there is positive progress in this regard," stressing the importance of a dynamic collaboration between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank to open credits.
