Member of the "Development and Liberation" parliamentary bloc, MP Ayoub Hamid, representing Speaker of the House Nabih Berri during a celebration organized by "Amal" educational institutions in Ain Qana, expressed regret over the fighting happening in the Ain al-Hilweh camp among its residents. He called on everyone to "focus on Palestine and its cause, a cause that deserves our sacrifice, and to immediately cease fire."
Regarding the political situation and the presidential file, he emphasized that "Lebanon's problems will not find a solution unless everyone returns to their conscience, prioritizing national interests over personal interests and avoiding narcissism in dealings." Hamid asserted that "it is necessary to commit to fully implementing the Taif Agreement," pointing out that it is unacceptable for some to call for selective amendments based on personal interests. He also noted that it is incomprehensible for some to demand boycotts of government sessions and parliamentary sessions, where approvals come only when matters align with certain individuals' circumstances.
On the topic of bilateral dialogues, Hamid stated that "Lebanon needs this type of dialogue, which, no matter how advanced it becomes, will not be effective unless it culminates in agreements with other political forces, especially those within the parliament."
