After the Cairo Economic Court sentenced Ghada Wali, a graphic designer, to six months in prison and fined her 10,000 Egyptian pounds, as well as ordered her to pay temporary compensation of 100,000 pounds, in a case where Russian visual artist "Georgy Kurasov" accused her of violating his material and moral rights by stealing his drawings and using them without his permission or knowledge for a graffiti project inside subway stations. In 2022, Ghada Wali won a contract to carry out artistic and advertising works for the third line of the subway at Heliopolis, the Girls' College, Bab Al-Shaariya, Abbasia, and Alf Masaken stations. In May 2023, the Russian visual artist filed a complaint against Ghada Wali, accusing her of violating his intellectual property rights.
