Army Raid on Syrian Refugee Camp and Homes of Wanted Individuals in Beqaa

The following statement was issued by the Army Command, Directorate of Guidance: "On September 16, 2023, a unit of the army, accompanied by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, raided a Syrian refugee camp in the area of Taybeh-Hamoudiyeh in Beqaa. Citizens (A.A.A.) and (A.S.A.) along with a Syrian national and several individuals wanted for drug trafficking opened fire at army personnel, who responded in kind. Consequently, the force raided the homes of the mentioned individuals and a warehouse belonging to them, detaining citizens (A.S.A.) and (H.T.), wanted for theft, along with 13 Syrians. A vehicle, motorcycles, military weapons, and a quantity of drugs, along with raw materials used for their production, were seized. The confiscated items were handed over, and an investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the relevant judiciary."
