Bourchier Wins World Championship in Formula 2

French driver Théo Bourchier won the World Championship title in Formula 2 today, Sunday, after finishing fifth in the season's final race in Abu Dhabi. Australian driver Mike Doohan won the last race of the season. Bourchier, aged 20, is also a reserve driver for the Alfa Romeo Formula 1 team and a driver in the Sauber team academy. He started today's race from 14th position and finished the season 11 points ahead of his closest rival, Danish driver Frederik Vesti, while Doohan secured third place in the final standings. Bourchier's team, ART, also won the Constructors' Championship, finishing ahead of Prema Racing. Bourchier, who participated with Alfa Romeo in the first practice session of the Formula 1 race last Friday, said, "It was a tough start to the week. A lot of driving. I had the chance to participate in the first practice session in Formula 1 on Friday, then faced some difficulties during qualifying, and it was a week full of pressure."
